Frequently Asked Questions

What is Medicare

Medicare is a federal health insurance program primarily for people aged 65 and older. However, individuals under 65 may also qualify if they have a disability, End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD), or ALS. (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease). Some people are automatically enrolled in Medicare, while others must enroll. Whether you’re enrolled automatically depends on whether you’re already receiving Social Security retirement or disability benefits before turning 65.
